The Labour Court has been issuing enormous fines if the Department of Labour is of the opinion that an employer is even the slightest bit non-compliant in the submission of their annual employment equity reports. These reports are being carefully scrutinised and it is best to get expert assistance in completing them.
Although only designated employers have had to submit annual reports up to now, if the Employment Equity Amendment Bill, 2018, and the Draft Employment Equity Regulations, 2018, are passed (which is likely), EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYER will be compelled to comply with the Act.
