Rob McCarthy
Rob McCarthy graduated from Michaelhouse School in 1984. He then went on to complete his Bachelor of Arts in Law at the University of Natal, Durban in 1988 and his LLB at the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg in 1990.
After travelling extensively around the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States, he returned home to Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, in January 1993.
Mr. McCarthy did his articles at Shepstone & Wylie Tomlinsons in Pietermaritzburg from July 1994 until June 1996 when he passed his bar exams and qualified as an attorney. He then worked at Shepstone & Wylie Tomlinsons until June 1998.
Mr. McCarthy worked as the Legal advisor for the Department of Health in KwaZulu-Natal from July 1998 until May 2001, while at the same time acting for his own clients as a labour and land law specialist. In May 2001, he left the Department of Health to be able to devote his full attention to his clients.

Shivani Beharilal
Shivani Beharilal matriculated from Drakensberg Secondary School in 2006 and went on to obtain her LLB from the University of South Africa (UNISA) in October 2015.
She joined McCarthy Attorneys in July 2016 as a Candidate Legal Practitioner, where she gained valuable experience across various legal disciplines. In August 2020, she was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court and now serves as an Associate at the firm.
Mrs. Beharilal specialises in civil, land, labour, environmental law, and debt collections, offering her clients comprehensive legal solutions tailored to their unique needs.
